In
each classroom just now, we are underway with practice, prop making and costume
design for our Christmas end of term Kobato Concert.
In
Plum Class we have a concert about things we love doing. One thing children love is
making many many different things with boxes. We will reflect this in our
concert with one group creating a giant robot on the stage. They
have been painting the body, designing the head and we look forward to when it
is finished. They will stick it together with magic tape. We’ve been learning
many lines too: “Let’s try this room?”; “Wow, it’s a ROBOT!”
We
have voted to decide everything from the main groups; and what actions we will
do for the songs; to what sort of nose for our bear hat costumes. It has been really good to see the children
cooperate and compromise to reach decisions.
In
Peach Class we have been we have been focusing on SDGs and the story 'Stella and the
Seagull'. Children have been very busy making props such as the vet, the light
house and the rubbish bin. For all the
props, no matter the big ones or small ones, the children have been talking
about what to make, what is the design, how to make, and who is going to make them
within their groups. Great Teamwork!
