October 31st was All School Halloween Party.
Each grade had a spooky fun time.
Here are what Immersion classes did on the special day!
<K1 Immersion Rose and Lily Class>
Happy Halloween!
K1 Immersion had a great time for
Halloween! Lily and Rose class students made their own trick or treat bags.
They also made decorations during the month of October to be ready for a fun
celebration.
On Halloween, the students came to school
wearing their special costumes. We had princess, pirates, and even police
officers! Both classes enjoyed dressing up. We played special Halloween games.
We had a fun throwing game and a balloon freeze dance game.
Both classes enjoyed eating lunch together.
It was a good chance to make close friendships among all the K1 students.

After lunch Lily and Rose class students
went to the elementary school for trick or treat! The first grade elementary
students at Gyoshu were the hosts. The students paraded their costumes. The
elementary students gave us compliments and a trick or treat gift.
Halloween was a wonderful holiday for all of our students!

<K3 Immersion Plum and Peach Class>
We had a wonderful Halloween party with grade 3
on October 31st. The children had been looking forward to this party
since before Sports Day. They dressed up in Halloween costumes and came to
kindergarten that morning in high spirits. Grade 3 had prepared for this party
too. They drew some nice pictures on the “Trick or Treat” bag for their
buddies.
At elementary school grade 3 students made some interesting
monsters with their K3 buddies. The monster quiz was the key element for
creating their monsters. ‘ How many eyes/legs/heads/horns/wings does this
monster have? ’ ‘What colour do you want for this body part?’ Were just a
few of the various questions asked. The grade 3 students used their English all
the time and the kindergarten children tried very hard to answer the questions
in English as well. Working hard together they created monsters, and we heard a
lot of laughter. Throwing rings at the witch’s hat to get the points was a game
that surprised some children. It looked easy to throw but it was not easy to
get good points. Matching the Halloween cards was a game that challenged
children’s memorization as they tried very hard to gain some cards. The
children used all their knowledge to try to build a ghost tower as high as they
could. All the ghosts were made by small paper cups, and they found many ways to
make the tower higher. They also made original cute ghosts by using Ping-Pong
balls and paper towels. “How many threads did you tear when you went through the
spider web?” Kindergarten children had a competition with grade 3 students. As
their bodies are smaller, it’s an advantage for our children, so kindergarten
children won the game. After they completed all the games they got the
treats as a reward.

The K3 children had a great time, and they really enjoyed the time
spent with Grade 3. The children tried very hard to
speak English the whole day. What an excellent experience.
